Timeline: Day before New Year’s Eve with flashbacks to Christmas (In this iteration, Henry is Regina’s son, and has no relation to Emma)
Jamie knelt on the couch and stared forlornly out the window at the shiny, pristine snow that was practically begging to be played in. Her feet itched to slip into snow boots and run outside, but she forced herself to walk slowly into the kitchen where Regina was mixing up batter for the sugar cookies they were taking to the New Year’s Eve party.
“Regina, may I…?”
“No.”
Jamie’s mouth dropped open as Regina cut her off before she could finish her question. “Why not? How can you say no when you don’t even know what I was going to ask?”
Regina looked up from where she was rolling out dough balls. “You were going to ask if you could go outside and play in the snow. You’ve only been moping at the window for the last hour.”
Jamie scowled, whining as she folded her arms over her chest. “Come on, Regina. I’ve been cooped up inside the house for nearly five days with practically nothing to do. I just want a little fresh air is all.”
Regina’s eyes narrowed at her brat’s whining. “And why exactly have you been cooped up inside, as it were?”
Jamie dropped her arms and huffed sullenly. “Because I’m grounded.”
Regina smirked as Jamie scuffed her toe on the floor. “And why are you grounded?”
Jamie glowered at her Top as she spat. “Because my only other choice was a spanking, and I didn’t want to go to the party with a sore bottom.”
“Watch your tone, young lady. It’s not too late to still get a spanking before tomorrow night.”
Jamie growled at what she knew was more than just a threat. The past five days had been pure torture. Because of her grounding, Regina had forbidden her from leaving the house alone, even for something as simple as playing in the snow in the backyard or making snow angels in the front yard. Pouting and whining had gotten her nowhere except some not so light love taps and a couple of timeouts spent standing in the kitchen corner. She frowned as Regina began spreading icing on the first batch of cookies.
“Regina, pleeeease let me go outside. I know I’m grounded, but I’m going crazy in here. I just want a few minutes in the front yard to make a snow angel or roll a snowman.”
Regina looked up and considered Jamie’s plea then shook her head. “I’m sorry, baby girl, but the answer is still no. You can play in the snow tomorrow once your grounding is over.”
Jamie’s forehead scrunched in anger as she stomped her way back into the living room. “This is fucking bullshit.” She muttered under her breath.
There was a swirl of purple smoke as Regina poofed into the living room. Her hand landed in a vise on Jamie’s neck, and the younger woman gulped. She started to turn around, intending to apologize, but a sharper than normal love tap drove a yelp from her throat. Gripping Jamie’s collar tightly, Regina spank-walked her brat into the kitchen and into the timeout corner.
“I have had it with the attitude, little one.” She punctuated her comment with another sharp spank. “And you can be sure we will be talking about your choice of language after your timeout.”
Jamie cringed at Regina’s words. She’d known she was pushing things with her whining and bratty attitude, but she hadn’t expected the older woman to actually hear her muttered words. She was so not looking forward to the upcoming conversation. Scuffing her toes on the floor, she couldn’t help but think back to how she’d gotten into this predicament in the first place.

Five days ago – December 25th, Christmas Day
Ever since the incident earlier in the month, Jamie had done her best to stay out of trouble. Christmas had been a smooth and joyous affair as they’d been joined by Regina’s son Henry who was visiting from university over Christmas break. He’d left the day after Christmas to join some friends on a ski trip, and Jamie had mourned the loss of her prank loving buddy. Emma was a decent substitute, but the blonde was more wary of inviting Regina’s wrath than Jamie was wont to be.
Henry and Jamie had pulled one last prank late in the afternoon, Christmas Day, and Regina had put her foot down as a snow cloud hovered over top her head wherever she went. She’d shrieked in the shower as icy flakes floated down and chilled her through the warm spray, ignoring Emma who stood behind her laughing her ass off. She’d glowered at the two delinquents as she’d carved the holiday turkey, snowflakes sizzling as they landed on steaming, hot meat. When the cloud followed her to the dining table, she’d pointed a stern finger at the giggling brats.
“Enough already, both of you. Cancel the spell or you can both eat dinner standing up.”
Henry sobered up immediately, his eyes cutting to Jamie in acquiescence. Jamie sighed theatrically then waved a hand to cancel the spell. The cloud instantly vanished, and Regina sighed in relief. Henry kept the dinner conversation light by regaling everyone with interesting stories from life at university while Jamie brooded over the dwindling time she had left with her new best friend.
“Do you really have to go?” She blurted out during a lull in the conversation.
Henry sighed heavily and ruffled Jamie’s hair. “I’m sorry, J, but I’ve been planning this trip for weeks. I can’t just blow off the guys, and besides, you know I’m headed back to school after the first anyway.”
Jamie scowled and pushed back from the table. “Well, it’s not fair. You’ve only been here for three days, and we’ve barely had time to do anything.”
Henry ran his fingers through his hair. “I know, J, and I’m sorry. Look, when I come for Spring Break, we’ll spend some time together just the two of us, maybe go riding or something.”
Jamie was not placated, and she thrust back from the table in an angry huff, knocking over her chair as she prepared to storm out of the room. Regina immediately snapped her finger, righting the chair and forcing Jamie to retake her seat.
“You haven’t been excused from the table, young lady, and this attitude of yours is headed straight for a spanking.”
Jamie swallowed hard, seething inside at the injustice of it all. Emma put a hand on Jamie’s thigh in an attempt to calm the younger woman, but Jamie just glared and pulled away. When everyone was finished with dinner, Jamie and Henry were excused to the living room while Emma helped Regina put away leftovers and clean up the kitchen. Emma was just finishing the last of the dishes when they heard shouting from the living room. Regina poofed into the living room just in time to see Jamie and Henry rolling around on the floor, fighting over the Xbox controller.
“Enough!”
Using magic to separate Jamie and Henry before someone got seriously hurt, Regina summoned the Xbox controller into an outstretched hand before handing it to Emma. She glared sternly at her son who dropped his gaze and flushed guiltily. Jamie struggled angrily as Regina’s magic held her in place. Regina strode across the room, stopping mere inches in front of her glowering brat.
“I don’t know what’s gotten into you tonight, little one, but this stops now. Anymore bratty behavior and you will be going to bed early with a very sore bottom.”
She turned to Henry. “And you know better as well, young man. You’re not too old to get turned over my knee either.”
Henry hung his head. “I’m sorry, Mom. I shouldn’t have let her push my buttons, especially since I knew she was already upset at my leaving tomorrow.”
Emma pulled Henry down onto the couch to sit beside her, while Regina gathered Jamie into her lap for a cuddle. “How about we finish up the evening with a movie, together?” She looked down at Jamie. “What do you say, little one? Are you going to sit here and behave, so we can finish the evening on a good note?”
Jamie sighed wearily, her shoulders slumping dejectedly as she curled into Regina’s chest. “Fine. I’ll behave, so long as you don’t put on It’s a Wonderful Life.”
Regina smirked to herself as she used the TV remote to load a comedy that soon had everyone chuckling, even Jamie, though she quickly returned to scowling as soon as anyone noticed. Regina pulled a blanket up over them to ward off the evening chill, her hand sliding down to pat Jamie’s bottom gently and rhythmically. Using the chill as an excuse to snuggle into Regina even more, Jamie reveled in her Top’s attention, the gentle patting of her bottom lulling her sleep.
Emma winked at Regina as Henry leaned against her and snored. “Looks like they finally wore themselves out.”
Regina chuckled softly. “That it does. Why don’t you wake Henry and send him upstairs while I tuck Jamie into bed.”
Emma nodded with a smile, and as she shook Henry gently, Regina poofed herself and Jamie upstairs into the younger woman’s bedroom. Jamie barely stirred as Regina swapped out her jeans for pajama pants and her t-shirt for a long-sleeved pajama top. Tucking the covers around her sleeping brat, Regina placed a soft kiss on Jamie’s cheek.
“Night, kiddo. Sweet dreams.”
Jamie’s eyes flickered as lips pressed against her cheek, and she smelled the sweet scent of apples. “I’m sorry, Regina, for earlier and stuff. I didn’t mean to be a brat.”
Regina carded fingers through Jamie’s hair. “I know, sweetie. Go to sleep, now. We’ll talk tomorrow.”
Jamie sighed; her eyes flickering shut as the events of the day caught up with her. The last thing she remembered before falling asleep was Regina’s lips on her cheek once more and the beautiful, sweet scent of apples filling her room.
After Henry had left the next morning, Regina had directed Jamie to her study for a chat about the fight with Henry and her attitude the night before. Jamie had been offered a choice of consequences, and as much as she hated being grounded, she didn’t want a spanking either. Having no other choice, she’d taken the grounding.

Back to present day – December 30th
Standing in the corner in the kitchen, Jamie was beginning to wonder if she should have just taken the spanking. Being grounded and bored sucked, and at her present rate of behavior, and choice of language, she was headed toward a spanking anyway. She sniffled at the thought of attending the New Year’s Eve party with a sore bottom. She wanted to blame Regina for the mess she was in, but her conscience wouldn’t let her. She’d dug this hole herself and now she had to live with the consequences.
Regina finished icing the last of the cookies then washed her hands before regarding a very penitent looking Jamie standing in the corner. She knew the bowed head and sniffles meant Jamie had at least spent some of her time in the corner well. Cupping the back of Jamie’s neck, she led the younger woman into the living room and onto her lap as she collapsed wearily onto the sofa.
“You want to tell me what the real problem is, little one?”
Jamie cringed, burying her face in Regina’s neck. “It’s just, I miss Henry, and Emma’s at work, and you’re busy with the cookies and getting ready for the party tomorrow night.”
“Ah.” Regina rubbed Jamie’s back. “Feeling a little left out, huh?”
Jamie squirmed under Regina’s knowing gaze. “Yeah, a little, I guess. I was going to offer to help you with the cookies, but after the last disaster in the kitchen, I didn’t want to presume. And I already know not to ask if I can accompany Emma on patrol, even if I do think I could help.” She shrugged her shoulders despondently. “I guess I was just feeling useless, like I’m not contributing, and – maybe I wanted a little attention?”
Regina let her hands slide down to cup Jamie’s tight, firm, buttocks encased in tight, black jeans. Jamie’s breath hitched as said hands squeezed quivering butt cheeks. Regina’s eyes were dark and hooded with arousal that sent a skittering shudder through Jamie’s chest. She shivered in the cool air as her clothes were slowly and meticulously removed as though peeled from her body with magic. Regina’s hands never moved, but Jamie felt a gush of wetness between her legs as she straddled her fully clothed lover.
“I can think of several ways you can contribute.” Regina answered, her voice a little more husky than normal.
This was followed by a swirl of purple smoke, and Jamie found herself pinned to their bed, her lover wearing nothing but a smirk. She grinned and gave in to Regina’s demands, knowing that whatever the older woman had planned, it was infinitely better than playing alone in the snow or icing cookies. She may not be very useful in the kitchen, and patrolling with Emma might be a chancy proposition, but pleasing her lover, now that was something she could do, and if she saved herself a spanking in the process, who was she to complain.
